As you know, the Chat GPT, which is becoming very famous now, is based on ‘artificial’ intelligence (AI) and thus the response we get is also artificial and depends on whatever information someone has fed to it. If someone fed data saying that god does not exist, then it would say that god doesn’t exist. So, it is ‘artificial’ – not natural – in the sense that it need not be the truth. Lacking a soul, or consciousness of its own, it can run some wired algorithms to run and give the response. For college exams, and scientific queries, this can be a great companion. However, can this also help our spiritual progress?
Spiritual realization has many levels that only the souls can feel, and understand depending on its level in spiritual evolution over so many births – from basic understanding to the highest level. For example, uttering the very word ‘Krishna’ itself brings many ecstatic symptoms in advanced devotees as they see the mercy of Lord immediately descending versus someone who is at a basic level. For most of the common people, perception of the Lord is just like a formless or a massive light. The understanding differs by their spiritual levels.
Of the 9 levels of spirituality, only the basic level is to understand that God has no form as the advaita vadis (mayavadis) say. They cannot understand spiritual forms because they are stuck with the forms of material nature. Spiritual dimension is far more difficult to grasp. So, the advaita-vadis and buddhists simply say god has no form or even there is no god.
Now, the ChatGPT and similar knowledge base further confuses the people. So, above response from ChatGPT comes from some data fed from the advaita sect, or mayavadis who say that brahman is the source of even bhagavan. But gita, srimad bhagavatam, caitanya caritamrta they all say that Bhagavan Krishna is the source of brahman or brahma-jyoti.
Let us take the first question: What is Sanatana Dharma?
Please see the answer given back as a response, and the given answer is only partially correct.
Sanatana Dharma is the intrinsic nature of the soul. What is the intrinsic nature of our soul?
It is eternally to exchange loving affection and serve Krishna. Actually liberated souls as noted in the response cease from serving the Lord.
jīvera svarūpa haya — kṛṣṇera nitya-dāsa’. .. CC Mad 20.108 "The original nature of Jiva is to be an eternal servant of Sri Krsna. "
Now let us take the next question: Who is the ultimate god?
Please see the answer above. It says brahman, which is also not really correct..
Brahman is just the effulgence of Lord Krishna.
brahma — aṅga-kānti tāṅra, nirviśeṣa prakāśe
sūrya yena carma-cakṣe jyotirmaya bhāse …(CC Mad 20.159)
“The manifestation of impersonal Brahman is simply the rays of Krsna’s spiritual bodily effulgence. It is like the sun (Krishna) and its lights (brahman). When the sun is seen by ordinary eyes, it appears to only consist of effulgence. Similarly when we try to see Bhagavan we are unable to penetrate his effulgence to see the beautiful form of Krsna with in. Rather we are blinded by the powerful rays of the impersonal brahman and say that brahman is ultimate.”
Then why didn’t ChatGPT say this? Because no one fed this data to the ChatGPT!
Here is another one from Srimad Bhagavatam:
sa vā ayaṁ brahma mahad-vimṛgya-
kaivalya-nirvāṇa-sukhānubhūtiḥ
priyaḥ suhṛd vaḥ khalu mātuleya
ātmārhaṇīyo vidhi-kṛd guruś ca .. SB 7.10.49
“…Kṛṣṇa is the source of the impersonal Brahman. He is the origin of the transcendental bliss sought by great saintly persons, yet He, the Supreme Person, is your most dear friend and constant well-wisher and is intimately related to you as the son of your maternal uncle. Indeed, He is always like your body and soul. He is worshipable, yet He acts as your servant and sometimes as your spiritual master.”
Why did that response not include this fact? Because no one fed this data!
Let us see even one more – this is from the Bhagavad Gita:
brahmaṇo hi pratiṣṭhāham
amṛtasyāvyayasya ca
śāśvatasya ca dharmasya
sukhasyaikāntikasya ca .. BG 14.27
“And I am the basis of the impersonal Brahman, which is immortal, imperishable and eternal and is the constitutional position of happiness.”
So, now by looking at the response from ChatGPT, we do not see these truths reflected in any way in the responses. As a blind-soul-less-machine, it displays what it has been programmed and given some data. Garbage in and garbage out! We feel pity when so many people are going to be misguided by this ‘artificial’ intelligent toy. It is also said that Lord Krishna hides from any one who does not approach Him by devotion.
It is said in the sastras, that divine knowledge is associated with the soul and not to the buddhi because buddhi is material. How can we really receive divine knowledge? It is infused only by direct contact, and vibration and mercy from advanced divine personalities. Our saints received divine knowledge from other higher divine personalities like that – not using things like CharGPT or Google!
These divine associations are obtained only by our sukrtis, not through an internet connection to ask ChatGPT or Google. Otherwise all the libraries containing spiritual books could have been liberated. ChatGPT is just like this. It has no soul, no consciousness and no realization, but is a programmed machine. So, how can it guide us? Actually it has many more chances of misleading us, because all those high-tech people feeding data are not even devotees. This yantra jnana is actually dangerous to spiritual growth. Once when Maya Danavana won the war with the help of Arjuna, he wanted to teach the ‘yantra-jnana’ to Arjuna. But Lord Krishna advised Arjuna not to accept it. Because it would hinder spiritual progress and devotion.
So, in summary, you have seen the nature of these technologies. It may be best suited for material science and even to make one to get a degree by taking exams with its help. But, these gimmicks can not help in spiritual progress for conscious jiva souls who have feelings, love and affection that attracts the Lord and their spiritual realization. So, please do not get misguided by this kind of ‘artificial’ knowledge, but go for the ‘real’ knowledge!
