Hare Krishna!
All glories to Srila Gurudeva and Srila Prabhupada.
This blog is about the one and only goal that we all should strive for, and what is the one and only thing to do to achieve it.
While the goals may differ for different people, according to the conclusion of all the sastras, attaining Krishna Prema is the highest goal. Even great gods are not able to get it.
To attain that supreme goal,
One may study Vedas, Upanishads and so many books, but that may make one only proud!
Or, one may tour so many holy places, but they are of no use without associating with sadhu there!
Or, one may dip into all the holy rivers, but they have to do many births to get any benefit!
Or, one may worship deities, but they may end up in heaven or Vaikuntha!
Or, one may preach everywhere, but they may get fame, name and prestige!
All the above cannot give guarantee to reach the supreme goal.
But, in all the revealed scriptures, one truth has been given.
That truth has never failed in history and will never fail in any remaining history.
That one activity is very simple and sure to give us the supreme goal:
That is: Making one’s guru happy!
Very simple, but it is possible only to the most fortunate ones!
Actually guru-bhakti is even more difficult to get!
Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakura says: “When the dust upon the lotus feet of Śrīla Gurudeva becomes our mainstay, we will be able to attain madhurya-seva to Śrī Kṛṣṇa, He who is the enchanter of the whole world (bhuvana-mohana). Hence we must always worship the lotus feet of Śrīla Gurudeva, without cessation.”
Srila Narottama Dasa Thakura also sings:
vaiṣṇava caraṇa jala, prema bhakti dite bol, āra keho nahe balavanta
vaiṣṇava caraṇa reṇu, mastake bhūṣaṇa vinu, āra nāhi bhūṣaṇera anta
“The best way to get Krishna Prema is to sincerely serve the lotus feet of Sri Guru and Vaishnavas.
No method is as powerful as this.”
